Universal Technical Institute Foundation Establishes Collegiate Housing Services Grant at NASCAR Tech

3/10/2010

PHOENIX, March 10, 2010 – Universal Technical Institute (UTI) Foundation today announced the creation of the Collegiate Housing Services, Inc. (CHS) grant to help deserving NASCAR Technical Institute (NASCAR TECH) students relieve the financial hardship related to housing costs that might jeopardize their ability to attend or to remain in school. The program, started by a $10,000 donation from CHS, offers students a one-time cash grant, not to exceed $800, towards housing expenses.

To apply for the grant students must participate in NASCAR Tech’s CHS Shared Housing program, demonstrate financial need and maintain a GPA and attendance record that keeps them in good standing at school. Selection of grant recipients will be made as requests are received and funds are available.

“Housing is a major expense while attending school,” said David Neal, president of CHS. “CHS is pleased to assist hard working students, who have exhausted all other means of financial support, to remain in their homes while they complete their education.”

“The Foundation is excited to announce the CHS Grant program,” said Veronica Meury, vice president and executive director of the UTI Foundation. “These grants will help deserving students with financial needs stay in school and achieve their dream of a technical education.”

More information about the grants is available on the UTI Foundation Web site at www.utifoundation.net.
