Nissan Donates $150,000 to Universal Technical Institute Foundation

PHOENIX, JULY 29, 2010 – Scholarships and internships are a hot commodity this time of year as high school graduates look for financial assistance for post-secondary education and seek to gain hands-on experience in their career pursuits. The UTI Foundation today announced a renewal of a $150,000 donation from Nissan North America, the organizations’ second consecutive donation for scholarships and internships.

Universal Technical Institute Foundation Establishes Bob Sweet Founder’s Scholarship

PHOENIX, June 24, 2010 – When Bob Sweet founded Universal Technical Institute (UTI) in 1965, only five students enrolled in the first automotive training class. Forty-five years and 120,000 graduates later, the UTI Foundation today announced the creation of the Bob Sweet Founder’s Scholarship in recognition of his lifetime achievement, leadership and vision. The $4,500 grant-in-aid-scholarship will be funded by the UTI Foundation and awarded annually to a deserving student seeking a technical education at UTI’s Avondale, Ariz. campus.

Universal Technical Institute Foundation Partners with Charlotte Motor Speedway to Assist Students

PHOENIX, April 15, 2010 – Universal Technical Institute (UTI) Foundation today announced a partnership with the Charlotte Motor Speedway that could generate more than $10,000 in annual support for students in need at UTI’s NASCAR Technical Institute (NTI) in Mooresville, N.C. NTI will provide student volunteers to help support events at Charlotte Motor Speedway in return for donations made to the UTI Foundation. PHOENIX, AZ (March 16, 2010) – Universal Technical Institute (UTI) Foundation has awarded Jennifer LaFever of San Jose, Calif. a $10,000 Brienne Davis Scholarship to attend Universal Technical Institute in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. The scholarship is part of the Brienne Davis Scholarship Fund – a scholarship program designed to help women gain the education they need to pursue careers in the automotive industry. Davis, a UTI alumnus who became a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series official, died tragically in 2008.

PHOENIX, March 10, 2010 – Universal Technical Institute (UTI) Foundation today announced the creation of the Collegiate Housing Services, Inc. (CHS) grant to help deserving NASCAR Technical Institute (NASCAR TECH) students relieve the financial hardship related to housing costs that might jeopardize their ability to attend or to remain in school. The program, started by a $10,000 donation from CHS, offers students a one-time cash grant, not to exceed $800, towards housing expenses.
